Hazy days

Hazy days 05.08.16

is a very strange existence. We must be having some of the best weather since i have been here, hay making is in fill swing yet i sit hour after hour typing. It is good for me to remember my journey and see the influences it has had on my life.

Each day i take time out to swim and to walk. It is a very simple existence.

I would love to be involved in haymaking. The hay is cut and barely dried, it is still very very green when brought in. It is not bailed but piled very loosely in airy lofts above sheds, its easy to have a loft above a building when much of the buildings are on the side of rocky hills.

The hay making appears to be a very male dominated affair though, the men work while women and children watch but it feels very rural and very dated, many of the villagers out in the fields and the vast majority of the work done by hand, rake and pitchfork.

There are so many empty buildings here in need of tlc. I understand that when someone dies, their family automatically inherit and property can sit neglected for years with nobody doing anything about it. This really is a very tranquil but an open and accepting little village.
